Tour Overview
Bhutan is a truly unique place, sitting high up in the Himalayas between India and China. For a long time, this mountain kingdom was closed off to the outside world, preserving a way of life that feels wonderfully untouched by modern rush. On this 6-day trip, we'll take you through the heart of Bhutan's two main hubs: Thimphu and Paro.
We start in Thimphu, a capital city so laid-back it doesn't even have a single traffic light. Instead, you'll see a traffic policeman directing cars with expressive hand signals. From there, we head up to the high Dochula Pass for mountain views, before winding down into the Paro valley to see century-old fortresses and walk through traditional farmhouses. It's a simple, raw, and incredibly beautiful look into Himalayan life.

Arrive in Paro & Drive to Thimphu
Land at Paro airport where our friendly team member will welcome you. We will hop into a private SUV and drive 65 kilometers to the capital city, Thimphu. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing and getting used to the mountain altitude.
Explore the Capital City
Today we visit the Folk Heritage Museum, National Library, and Handicrafts Center to see local artists at work. Check out the National animal at the Takin Zoo and stop by the massive Buddha statue. Keep an eye out for the local traffic cop directing traffic with rhythmic hand motions!

Day Trip to Dochula Pass
Take a 45-minute uphill drive to the famous Dochula Pass sitting at 10,000 feet. Walk around the 108 Druk Wangyal memorial stupas and enjoy panoramic views of the high Himalayan peaks on a clear day. Stop at Hongtsho village on the way back to try some fresh mountain apples.
Drive to Paro Valley & Historic Forts
Drive back to Paro valley. Today we visit the National Museum inside the round Ta Dzong fortress and look around the ancient Paro Dzong. We will also explore the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a historical 17th-century fortress built to stop invasions.

Discover Paro Culture & Local Farms
Spend the day looking at Paro's countryside. Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred 7th-century temples in Bhutan. Later, walk inside a traditional farmhouse to meet local families and see how they live and farm in the valley.
Final Departure
Enjoy an early breakfast at the resort before checking out. Our driver will transfer you in our private SUV back to Paro International Airport for your flight home.
