Arrive in Paro & Drive to Thimphu
Land at Paro International Airport where our friendly representative will meet you at the exit gate. After a warm greeting, we will drive together to Thimphu, the capital city. Once we check into the hotel, the rest of the day is yours to unwind, get used to the high altitude, and enjoy a warm cup of local tea.
Exploring Quirky Thimphu
Thimphu is famous for having no traffic lights; instead, a policeman directs cars with elaborate, dance-like hand movements! Today we will visit the National Memorial Chorten, the giant golden Buddha statue overlooking the valley, and the Takin Zoo to see Bhutan's unusual national animal. Later, we'll visit the Folk Heritage Museum and head to the Clock Tower Square for some local shopping.

Thimphu to Paro Valley Drive
We drive back to the beautiful Paro valley this morning. We will visit the majestic Paro Dzong fortress and check out the historic artifacts inside the round Ta Dzong National Museum. Next, we will visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in the country, before stopping by the ruins of the Paro Penlop Heritage Farmhouse.
The Big Hike Day: Choose Your Adventure
Today offers a few exciting options. If you're physically fit, challenge yourself to the famous 7-hour round-trip hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery, which clings to a sheer cliff 900 meters above the valley. If you prefer a gentler option, hike to the quiet cliffside temple of Dzongdrakha, or take a scenic walk by the riverside and visit a local farmhouse to see how villagers live.
