Pristine Pelling & Gorgeous Gangtok
Tour Overview
If you want more time in Gangtok and just a quick taste of Pelling, this 5-night trip gets the balance right. One night in Pelling, three nights in Gangtok, and enough sightseeing packed in to make every day count.
The trip starts with a long drive from Bagdogra or NJP station up to Pelling, climbing steadily until the air turns cooler and the pine forests take over. You get one night here, but the next morning is used well: a half-day tour covering the Skywalk, Pemayangtse Monastery, and the quiet Rabdentse Ruins, before the drive continues on to Gangtok.
Gangtok is where this trip really settles in. Three nights give you room to actually see the city instead of rushing through it. One full day goes to Tsomgo Lake and the New Baba Mandir, both sitting above 12,000 feet, where the lake water stays a strange, still blue against the snowline. Another day is dedicated to Gangtok's own sightseeing circuit: Tashi View Point, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, Bakthang Falls, Do-Dul Chorten, Enchey Monastery, and depending on the day of the week, the Research Institute of Tibetology or Lasa Falls as a backup.
Stays are at Rufina Palm Bliss in Pelling and Divine The Royal Heritage in Gangtok, both 3-star properties with mountain views and breakfast included daily. Every transfer and sightseeing trip runs privately, point to point, so you're not adjusting your plans around anyone else's group.
This itinerary suits travellers who'd rather spend real time in one place than keep packing and unpacking. Gangtok's markets, monasteries, and mountain excursions get the spotlight here, with Pelling working more as a scenic stopover on the way in. Starting at ₹17,112 per person on twin sharing.

In practice, PAP applications for East Sikkim (Tsomgo Lake, Nathula) are typically submitted a day in advance and processed through the Tourist Information Centre at MG Marg, Gangtok. This is normally handled by your operator, but it means your documents need to reach them the evening before your excursion day — don't hand over your ID copies at the last minute on the morning of the trip.
